My name is Alden Filion. I am a digital artist. My career has led me to grow in several aspects of computer graphics, ranging from computer based training for prototype Military aircrafts, all the way to broadcast commercial work.
I have most recently been working in the videogames industry. I am a hardcore gamer and feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work on all the major consoles. Some of the aspects that I am most passionate about within cg art, are rendering, lighting, and shading. I spend a good bit of time learning how to use different rendering engines whether they are realtime or offline renders...they all intrigue me.
I am a tech head at heart, so I spend a good bit of time reading university white papers on new rendering techniques and tools currently in development. I am by no means a programmer but I think its essential that in such a fast moving industry you should try to stay as far in the forefront of technology as you possibly can. There are so many visionaries in our industry... such as John Carmack, Paul Debevec, Tim Sweeney, Jules Urbach and countless others who are discovering tremendous techniques to try and push our field into the next level, which is extremely exciting.
